Sky Tower, Romania’s tallest building and a notable sustainable landmark in Bucharest, welcomes its newest tenant: Flanco Retail, one of Romania’s leading retailers of electronic and household appliances.

Starting in July, Flanco occupies the entire 11th floor of SkyTower, spanning over 1,150 sqm. This move represents a strategic step towards providing employees with a modern, comfortable working environment in a multi-purpose building that offers top-tier facilities. The building is located in Barbu Vacarescu – Floreasca, the most vibrant and effervescent area of Romania’s capital city.

The relocation to the new headquarters also marks the retailer’s strategic shift towards repositioning as the first smart discounter store chain in Romania’s electro-IT sector.

SkyTower Bucharest stands 137 meters tall with 37 floors and a 60-meter underground structure for storage and parking. The tower is the first building in the world to receive SHORE PLATINUM certification, the first office building in Romania certified with LEED Platinum for Operations and Maintenance, while also holding the GOLD DGNB certification for sustainable buildings, evaluated by ÖGNI (Austrian Society for Sustainable Building Management).

Last year, Sky Tower won a RE-markable AWARD for its SkyHub Events Centre, a high-tech community and events space designed to expand the tower’s facilities and services and to host community events and activations.

DHL Express, the global leader in international express courier services, will open a new logistics center in VGP Park Bucharest North, located north of Bucharest, in Ștefănești. The lease of the new center’s space, with an area of 4,109 sqm, was facilitated by CBRE Romania.

The logistics center will specialize in sorting parcels arriving by air, ensuring their fast delivery to DHL Express customers in Romania. The strategic location of VGP Park Bucharest North, near the A3 Bucharest-Ploiești highway, facilitates quick access to the road transport network, thus optimizing the delivery process.

The local real estate developer & investor River Development announces the lease of a 1,200 sqm space to the worldwide leading player in the data center industry – Infinity Cloud Technologies, on the ground floor of the Paris Office Building, in Sema Parc. The transaction was brokered by iO Partners.

The leased space is necessary for functioning in optimal conditions, to provide the critical IT infrastructure needed to deliver resources and services to business employees, partners and customers worldwide.

Real estate investor-developer Hagag Development Europe and consultancy company CBRE Romania have recently signed an exclusive agreement regarding the leasing strategy for H Știrbei Palace, Bucharest’s newest luxury destination.

Romania’s luxury goods market is estimated to generate revenues of EUR 535.82 million this year, the demand being fuelled by an increasingly wealthier population. In this mandate, CBRE Romania is focused on attracting premium and luxury retailers, responding to significant demand from this segment. The increased interest shown in recent discussions confirms the robust potential of the Romanian market.

The luxury retail market in Romania is on a continuous rise, with Bucharest becoming an increasingly attractive destination for premium brands. This trend is fuelled by the development of prestigious real estate projects, including 13 new five-star hotels planned by 2028, which will host brands such as Corinthia, Mondrian, Hyatt, and Kempinski. According to a market report published by CBRE Romania, there was an increase in prime rents for high-street locations in the first quarter of 2024, reflecting the dynamism of this segment.
