Among the main objectives for 2022, Ștefan Vayna, CEO, MASTERBUILD – General Contractor & Property Developer, estimates an increase of at least 30% in the turnover of the company, reaching around 25 million euros. How would you describe 2021 for the business of your company? What were the main achievements of your company last year?
The last 30 years have taught us that “normal” means constant change and fewer moments of stability. Last year, the business environment showed maturity through a very active dynamic.
The events we attended in 2021 helped us to strengthen the team. The fact that MASTERBUILD has expertise in crisis management, gained in the 2009-2011 period, gave us the confidence to move forward. Since September 2021, we have resumed the activity of external development. We also build in other parts of the world – including military bases in Africa or various other targets in Europe. And recently I was able to resume this activity.
Which are your main objectives for 2022?
In 2022, we expect an increase of at least 30% in turnover, so that we will reach around the figure of 25 million euros, with a profit margin between 8-10%. We will reinvest about 70% of the profit.
How do you see the main trends shaping for 2022?
If, until last year, there was a lack of predictability in government policies, now it applies to construction and prices and delivery times. Probably a strong shock will come from somewhere, but if we have a vision and go towards it, any new shock will be just an event from which we will have something to learn from and it will certainly make us stronger.
